Siquijor Province – Braving the waves, the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development 7 (MIND 7) visited the island Province of Siquijor to visit Nutrition and Agriculture projects being implemented by select Municipalities in the province last 31 May to 01 June 2013.

Cebu City – A ceremonial stripping of an enlarged picture of a hungry child giving way to a healthy child was the highlight of the Nutrition Month 2013 Launching Program last 01 July 2013 at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
The objectives of the activity were to increase awareness among mall-goers on hunger-related issues and actions to mitigate hunger and malnutrition.
Officials who participated in the ceremonial “Hunger Rip-Off” were DOH – CHD 7’s ARD Dr. Lakshmi I. Legaspi, Saint Anthony Mother and Child Hospital’s Chief Nurse, Dr. Rosenie S. Coronado, USC – Nutrition and Dietetics Chair, Ms. Elvira B. Madronial, Cebu Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Cristina B. Giango and NNC 7’s Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Parolita A. Mission.

Cebu City - Thirty institutions, including schools, government agencies, non-government organizations and businesses, attended the recently concluded Nutrition Month Sales Conference held at the Juan Luna Hall, Cebu Grand Hotel, N. Escario St., Cebu City last 11 June 2013.
The Nutrition Month celebration this year is the 39th.
The annual Nutrition Month Sales Conference is done to generate private sector support and participation for the 2013 NM celebration. Among the schools that attended the sales conference were Asian College of Technology – College of Nursing, Cebu City Medical Center – College of Nursing, Cebu Doctors University – College of Nursing and College of Arts and Sciences, Cebu Normal University – College of Nursing, Cebu Sacred Heart College, Saint Paul College Foundation Incorporated – College of Nursing, Southwestern University – College of Nursing, University of South Philippines Foundation, University of Cebu – Banilad Campus, University of San Carlos – Department of Nursing and Department of Nutrition.

Makati City – Six municipalities from Bohol Province were awarded during the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Awards during the Philippine Association of Nutrition Awards last 03 July 2013 held at the Dusit Thani Manila, Ayala Center, Makati City. The municipalities of Alicia, Balilihan, Carmen, Duero, Lila and Pilar were recognized with the PSN Outstanding Awards while Jagna was awarded with the PSN Exemplary Award.
The PSN Exemplary Award recognizes organizations that have successfully implemented Pabasa sa Nutrisyon for at least three years, has received a Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Outstanding Award and is still implementing it. The municipality of Jagna has been implementing the Pabasa program since 2010 up to present.

Cebu City – In celebrating its 39th year, Nutrition Month marked with the theme -- "Gutom at malnutrisyon, sama-sama nating wakasan!" (Hunger and malnutrition, let us end it together!), its launch activity is an anti-hunger caravan held last July 01, 2013. Around 22 vehicles participated in the caravan which started at the Brgy. Mambaling Sports Complex, Cebu City.
A short program was done at the Brgy. Mambaling Sports Complex before it kicked off. Among those who participated were beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya Program. Resources speakers talked about hunger mitigation programs. Among them were Ms. Cheryl M. de la Victoria, IO III of DA 7 who talked about the National Year of the Rice, followed by, Ms. Melinda D. Cañares, ND III of DSWD 7 who discussed the Supplementary Feeding and the Pantawid Pamilya Program. Additionally, Mr. Jose T. Marmol, Planning Officer of TESDA 7 delved on the Technical-Vocational Training Program of TESDA 7 and Mr. Celso Lumaad of Feed the Children spoke the organization's activities in curbing hunger.
