The 2021 Nutrition Month with the theme: "Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan", calls for continued efforts to address malnutrition in the country which is expected to worsen as a result of the pandemic and limited resources for nutrition. The theme calls for all sectors to focus efforts on the First 1000 Days of life as the strategic intervention to prevent stunting and obesity.

17 June 2021 -- National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA led the MIMAROPA Regional Bantay Asin Task Force (RBATF) meeting series 2021 earlier held via Zoom Application. It was attended by 12 RBATF members and 5 NNC MIMAROPA staff.

Following DOST-PAGASA’s Tropical Cyclone Bulletin #20 issued 2:00PM, 2 June 2021, announcing the movement of Tropical Storm “Dante” towards the southwestern portion of Batangas – northeastern portion of Oriental Mindoro, with center over the coastal waters of Pola, Oriental Mindoro or 45km East Southeast of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, it is expected that the tropical storm will maintain its strength until it makes landfall over mainland Luzon. Further land interaction with rugged terrain will weaken “Dante” into a tropical depression tonight or tomorrow morning.

National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA holds the 1st Regional Nutrition Committee and Nutrition Cluster Joint Meeting, s. 2021 on 27 May 2021 via Zoom video conference. The meeting attended by 20 members and representatives from the 16 regional line agencies and was presided by NPC Ma. Eileen Blanco on behalf of RNC Chair Dr. Mario Baquilod.

The World Health Organization (WHO) holds and celebrates the World No Tobacco Day every 31st May of the year. The goal of this advocacy is to spread awareness to the public on the dangers and risks of using tobaccos and any other forms of cigarettes; how people can make the world tobacco free; and battling the tobacco epidemic.

A strategizing meeting was conducted by the National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA with the Department of Agrarian Reform MIMAROPA to discuss concerns on the implementation of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program. The strategizing meeting was held at the function room of DAR MIMAROPA Regional Office. It was attended by Regional Director Atty. Marvin Bernal, Assistant Regional Director Ms. Lilibeth Lee, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Mr. Ferdinand De Gala, Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Ms. Ruby Oncita, Engineer II Mr. Melvin Tirao, and Administrative Assistants Ms. J-an Manuel and Mr. Jushua Pando from DAR MIMAROPA while from NNC MIMAROPA comprises of Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator and Officer-in-Charge Ms. Ma. Eileen Blanco, Nutrition Officer III Ms. Maria Camille Louise Chen, Nutrition Officer I, Mr. Ace Patriarca, and ECCD-F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator, Mr. Francis Erik Bacena through Zoom Application.
