Negros Occidental - In an activity coined as "Walk the Talk" members of the Western Visayas Nutri-Media Circle (WVNMC) visited CROWN awardee La Carlota City last January 17, 2018. The exposure visit aimed for the members of the circle to be familiar and document the best practices and lessons learned on nutrition as well as generate support for nutrition.

Iloilo City - National Nutrition City (NNC) Regional Office VI conducted a training of trainers for the Province of Iloilo to start the Phase II of the Early Childhood Care and Development Program in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program at Punta Villa Resort, December 11-15, 2017.

Six (6) local government units (LGUs) in the Province of Capiz including Dumalag, Dumarao, Panay, Sapian, Sigma, Tapaz and Roxas City, were trained for Nutrition in Emergencies Management (NiEM) last September 18-21, 2017 at Punta Villa Resort, Iloilo City.
NiEM Training aims to position the nutrition program planners, implementers and disaster responders on the same level of knowledge and understanding of Nutrition in Emergencies – addressing the vulnerabilities in multi-hazard situations and even in the setting of complex emergencies.

The Municipality of Ibajay, Aklan was hailed as the Outstanding Municipality for Region VI for their exemplary performance on Nutrition Program implementation. This is the first time that the Municipality received the Green Banner Award and should they maintain their excellent performance for the next two years, they will have a chance to bring home the CROWN Award.
Ibajay Mayor Jose Enrique Miraflores together with MHO Dr. Antonio Maagma and other MNC members received the Green Banner and plaque of recognition during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) held on December 07, 2017 at EON Centinnial Resort and Waterpark.
A Municipality has to score 85% or above to have a chance at taking home the Green Banner Award.
