Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) areas in Iloilo Province went through a one-day Planning Workshop on Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP), June 21, 2017 at EON Centennial Hotel.
The planning workshop’s goal was to identify and finalize the design and mode of implementation of DSP per area, finalize the procurement and financial-related concerns and set a timeline for the conduct of activities related to the DSP program.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) downloaded P6,187,589.00 for the implementation of the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) for Pregnant women in the Early Childhood Care and Development Program in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K), April 11, 2018.
The program aims to reduce the number of nutritionally at risk pregnant women in the city and to increase the number of infants with normal birth weight (greater or equal to 2.5 kg) by providing them hot meals every week day for 76 days and dry ration on weekends for 14 days starting on the 24th week of pregnancy.

The Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program areas in Region VI were oriented on the omnibus guidelines of the different components of the program during the Consultative and Follow-up Meeting on the ECCD F1K Program that NNC regional office for Western Visayas conducted on March 22, 2018 at EON Centennial Hotel.
Discussed during the meeting were the guidelines for home food production, conduct of nutrition education classes, technical exchange visits, local media planning and the conduct of Technical Assistance, Monitoring and Evaluation (TAME) visits.

The City of La Carlota, Negros Occidental, as a beneficiary area of the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) for Pregnant Women in the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program, received P 4, 844, 242.00 on April 02, 2018 to fund the activities under DSP.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC), Region VI through RNPC Nona B. Tad-y turned over a check amounting to P3,096,054 to fund the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) for Pregnant Women in the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program to local government unit (LGU) of Concepcion, Iloilo on March 26, 2018.
The DSP's objectives are to reduce the number of nutritionally at-risk pregnant women and to increase the number of infants with normal birth weight (greater or equal to 2.5 kg) by giving them hot meals every week day for 76 days and dry ration every weekend for 14 days starting on their 24th week of pregnancy.
Mayor Millard Villanueva of Concepcion received the check, witnessed by Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Dr. Helen Minguez, SB on Health Hon. Agustin Garilva and other members of the Municipal Nutrition Council and ECCD F1K PNC for Iloilo Province Gelaine Pet Trabado.
