The 2021 “Fitness Challenge” of NNC – Calabarzon staff is currently in full swing, as a great way to get everyone excited about wellness. The challenge is intended to encourage the NNC-Calabarzon staff to achieve the “Desirable Body Weight (DBW)” through “Moderation, Variety and Balanced (MoVaBa)” in eating and adopting an active lifestyle.
As a start in the fitness journey, the staff were divided into two teams. Each team is represented by a leader assigned as its “fitness coach” – and tasked to create a fitness plan to help the members achieve their goal of either losing or gaining weight.

QUEZON CITY, 29 Enero- Sa panahon ng “Goiter Awareness Week,” pinaunlakan ng NNC Calabarzon ang imbitasyon ng DZJV 1458 RADYO Calabarzon upang magbigay ng kaalaman sa paksang “Goiter Sugpuin, Isip Patalinuhin, Iodized Salt, Gamitin.”
Sa pamamagitan ni Ms. Jhonnadelle Ritz Castillo, ECCD-F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator ng Quezon at Rizal, tinalakay ang ilang mga katanungan at mga pamantayang itinakda ng DOH sa pag gamit ng asin.

The “Online Nutrition Service Continuity Survey” of NNC Calabarzon which is expected to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the provision and utilization of routine nutrition services in the health system in the region, has been reinforced in LGUs this month.
The study covers the collection of data on the capacities undertaken by/and on the following: Barangay Nutrition Scholars; the nutrition services offered before and during community quarantine; Nutrition Services Adaptation; Nutrition Information, Education, and Communication; and provision of food packs.

During the first “Virtual Meeting of the Calabarzon F1K Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (P/C/MNAOs)” for 2021 last January 19, several F1K areas presented their plans for sustaining the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD-F1K).
As stated in No. 10, Sec. 3.2 of the Memorandum of Agreement signed between the LGU and NNC, “LGUs shall ensure the sustainability of the program and the inclusion in local nutrition plans, even when there is no more funding support for the F1K Program from the national level”.

QUEZON CITY, 18 January – In observance of the 2021 Goiter Awareness Week (GAW), NNC-Calabarzon recently distributed t- shirts with the inscriptions “Sakto ba ang Iodine sa Asin mo?” and “Hanapin ang SISA Seal!” to advocate the prevention of thyroid disorders.
Thyroid disorders are caused by iodine deficiency that leads to goiter or the enlargement of the thyroid glands. It is a condition characterized by the lack of trace elements in the body which are essential for healthy pregnancy and in the maintenance of metabolic processes, growth, and body temperature.

Sa pamamagitan ni Ms. Jhonadelle Ritz Castillo, ang ECCD F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator ng Quezon, tinalakay sa programa ng radyo ang patungkol sa paanyaya sa iba’t ibang mga lokal na pamahalaan at pribadong sector para sa pagpapalawak ng adaptors ng E-Nutribun.
