Quezon City, January 18, 2021. NNC-Calabarzon recently distributed the certificates of completion and provisions to the first wave (Batch 1 and 2) “Nutrition in Emergencies-Information Management (NiE-IM) e-learning course” graduates of Region IV-A.
The supplies given away include one OTG USB per student, mobile load card allowance, and Internet Modem and external hard drive per LGU. Other provisions to be disbursed later are: a height board, a weighing scale, NiE-IM Manual and nutrition assessment tools. The materials will greatly assist the graduates in applying the course learnings in their respective LGUs

QUEZON CITY, 14 January – The 1st virtual P/CNAOs meeting on the latest nutrition updates for Calabarzon stakeholders was held last January 11, thru the leadership of NPC Carina Z. Santiago. Foremost in the agenda was the discussion on: the “Interim Guidelines in the Conduct of OPT (Operation Timbang) Plus,” “ Nutrition Screening,” and the “Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP)” activities in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and other disasters.
The group agreed to commence with the discussion on the conduct of the OPT Plus in their respective areas through the traditional weight and height taking and/or through measurement using the “Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC)” tape. The early start of this activity will not only provide the information needed for nutrition planning -- specifically on the number of target children for inclusion in nutrition interventions, but will also ensure a higher OPT Plus coverage.

Quezon City – It was unanimously agreed during the 7th CNN 4A’s Zoom Video Conference last December 10 that CNN-4A’s Media Group will hold over its existing set of officers until 2022.
The President, Mr. Red C. Alano, (City Information Officer of Dasmarinas City) will continue to hold its position in the organization until the next two years. Same with the Vice President for Print, Mr. Antonio R. Antazo Jr. (of Rizal Provincial Information Office); the Vice President for Broadcast, Mr. Emil Jun Delos Santos (aka Daniel Castro of DZJV Radyo Calabarzon); and the Vice President for Social Media, Mr. Kier Gideon M. Gapayao (of the Philippine Information Agency - Calabarzon).

Quezon City – Early this year, NNC Calabarzon started distributing the Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) tapes and IEC materials (Pinggang Pinoy Handbook and the Barangay Nutrition brochure) to LGU representatives for the conduct of their ongoing Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus and nutrition screening for the first quarter.
In Cavite, the allocations for the municipalities were received by Ms. Angeles Peñalba, PNAO. Ms. Peñalba, was a recipient of the “2020 Nutrition Heroes for Covid-19 Response (Provincial Category)“ during the 2020 Virtual Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony in November 2020.

Quezon City - This month marks the end of the successful e-learning course on “Nutrition in Emergencies–Information Management (NiE-IM) in Calabarzon -- as well as the beginning of higher confidence in enhancing disaster nutrition plans in the region. All the skills and knowledge learned by the 114 students who participated in the course will highly equip them and their team in addressing nutrition challenges during disasters.
Beautifully expressed in the ceremony were grateful thanks to the resource speakers and all the students (total of 53 students for Batch 1 and 61 for Batch 2) who participated the e-learning course in 12 meetings from October to December this year. After the synthesis was given to refresh the course, inspiring messages were taken into account.

QUEZON CITY – During the last four months of 2020, a total of 1552 BNS, C/MNAOs and Assistant C/MNAOs in the 39 municipalities and one city of Quezon Province received financial subsidy from the Provincial Government of Quezon. Each MNAO received Php 3,000.00 while Assistant MNAOs got Php 2,500.00. All the 1,472 BNS of the province obtained P 2,500.00 each
The distribution of the monetary grant was spearheaded by Governor Danilo Suarez, PA/PAO/PNO Roberto Gajo, together with Quezon Province Vice Governor Sam Nantes and the Board Members: Romano Talaga, Beth Sio and Alona Obispo.
