QUEZON CITY, 21 December – Last 15 December 2020, an Executive Order signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approving the extension of government service of Dr. Eduardo C. Janairo beyond the compulsory retirement age, as Director IV of the Department of Health (DOH) – Calabarzon for another six months was received by the regional line agency.

Based in the Facebook post of Philippine Information Agency - Calabarzon last 17 December 2020, RD Dr. Janairo stated that “I welcome the privilege to serve the government again. Nagpapasalamat ako sa ating Presidente, kay Presidente Duterte, sa binigay nyang suporta at pagtitiwala sa aking kakayahan upang patuloy na maisulong ang iba’t-ibang program na atin ng naumpisahan sa Calabarzon.”

Quezon City -   The NNC CALABARZON’s webpage reached a total of 2,489 unique visits for the 3rd quarter taking the “First Runner-up Place” as the Most Visited Webpage during the third quarter Webby Awards. 

The announcement of winners held during the NNC 2020 General Assembly last December 17 was facilitated by Ms. Ellen Ruth F. Abella, Nutrition Officer IV and OIC of the Nutrition Surveillance Division (NSD).

QUEZON CITY, 16 December – Mayroon nang siyam na adoptors ang  Enhanced Nutribun o E-Nutribun  sa CaLaBaRZon, ngunit  inaanyayahan pa rin ng NNC Calabarzon ang iba’t ibang mga pribadong sektor upang tulungan ang ating mga kababayan   sa pamamagitan ng pagiging isa sa mga accredited adoptors  ng E-Nutribuns.  Sa paraang ito, mas magiging   abot-kamay ng mas nakakaraming  mamamayan  ng rehiyon ang pinasustansyang tinapay.

Ito ang siyam na accredited adoptors ng E-Nutribun sa rehiyon: 1) Sa Probinsya ng Batangas, ang San Jose Workers MPC at Panaderia Pantoja; 2) Sa Probinsya ng Laguna, ang Swisspharma Research Laboratories, Inc., Gem See’s Cakeshop, at Golden Wheat Bakery;   3)  Sa Probinsya ng Cavite, ang MRG Food Products o ang Malou’s Bakery at and Amira’s Buco Tart Haus; at 4) Sa  Probinsya ng Rizal at Quezon ang Momilo Mio Food Ventures at LGU-Mauban.

Quezon City – Bilang pag suporta  sa selebrasyon ng “National Health Emergency Preparedness Day” ngayong buwan, ang NNC Calabarzon ay nagsasagawa ng mas maagap at mas maagang paghahanda para sa mga darating na sakuna at kalamidad sa tulong ng Regional Nutrition Cluster.  

Kasama sa paghahanda  ang  pagkakaroon ng response vest at iba pang emergency supplies gaya ng Emergency Go Bag at E-Balde. Ang nilalaman ng bag  ay  ang mga sumusunod: metal whistle, flashlight, boots, extra t-shirt, face mask, payong, lapel, at first aid kit.

Quezon City, December 16 – Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla extended her appreciation and acknowledged the challenge   of continuously executing and performing their best efforts in addressing the problem of malnutrition after receiving   two major awards from NNC Calabarzon during the 2020 Calabarzon Virtual Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on 10 December 2020.

Ms. Kristine Joy Fedilo, Nutrition Officer I of NNC Calabarzon   personally handed the plaque of award to Mayor Revilla last December 14 during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bacoor Government Center Strike Gymnasium.

Quezon City – A total of 250 pregnant women of Barangay  Pinugay in Baras, Rizal were  the grateful recipients of  the first batch of the  Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP)  launched last December 6. The DSP  was  spearheaded by Dr. Allen M. Malabanan (Municipal Health Officer and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer),  and  Brgy. Captain Jofre R. Seclot (Barangay Nutrition Council Chair), with the assistance of Mr. Michael D. Leonido  (Barangay Nutrition Scholar of Pinugay).

Funded by the National Nutrition Council, the DSP  is part of the collective approach targeting the first 1000 days of a child to ensure their optimum growth and to specifically avoid stunting. Included in the program is the  regular Friday  ration  of  nutritious food packs.
