CALAMBA CITY – NNC Calabarzon successfully conducted the 2^nd virtual monitoring of Radyo Kaisahan (the Nutriskwela Community Radio Network in Sariaya, Quezon) last September 21 – with Ms. Carina Z. Santiago, NNC Calabarzon’s RNPC and, Ms. Ma. Jhonnadelle Ritz H. Castillo, ECCDF1K PNC spearheading the activity.

Through the virtual monitoring, NNC Calabarzon witnessed the strong reinforcement provided by the LGU of Sariaya in ensuring the smooth operations of Radyo Kaisahan in the promotion of good nutrition and in the active involvement of the community of listeners in the municipality. It gave a clear vision and path that “Together we can achieve more.”

DCNPCAP Article with Caption In the move to become a well-organized and recognized association, 35 members of the District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators’ Association of the Philippines, Inc. (D/CNPCAP) - Calabarzon gathered together in a virtual General Assembly last September 25.

The event is conducted annually to discuss organizational issues and concerns; provide relevant nutrition updates to the members; and strengthen camaraderie among the delegates through participation in fellowship opportunities. This year, some Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators (MNPCs) from Cavite Province joined in the Virtual General Assembly.

NAOs GA 2020 Ninety four (94) Nutrition Action Officers (NAOs) and representatives from the different municipalities, cities, and provinces in Calabarzon continue to scale up their passion for nutrition efforts in an online virtual General Assembly (GA) held in two clusters in August 25 and 27. Amid pandemics, calamities and changes in work practice, NNC Calabarzon carries on its work to get people moving even more vigorously with unfailing hard work.

During the GA, Ms. Carina Z. Santiago, Calabarzon’s Nutrition Program Coordinator, presented the Plans and Updates of NNC Calabarzon: 1) The nutrition programs, projects and activities; 2) The BNS financial, medical and survivorship assistance of NNC; 3) The resumption of Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus; 4) The compliance to LBM No. 80 s. 2020; and 5) The status of submitted NAOs Profile and Inventory. The nutrition programs, projects and activities include the upcoming virtual orientations, trainings, and conferences to be conducted by the national and regional office.

final dap article NNC Calabarzon staff, Ms. Lourdes Bulante-Orongan, NO III, was one of the Middle Management Class (MMC) scholars who recently joined the Public Management Development Program (PMDP) of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). Together with other scholars from 24 government agencies in 12 regions across the country, she was welcomed in a virtual grand opening ceremony.

In the event, NNC Executive Director, Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang was represented by Ms. Carina Z. Santiago, RNPC of NNC Calabarzon. The program is part of the firm commitment of DAP to continue producing peak performing managers and leaders for the Filipino people.

LAGUNA, 28 Agosto – Ngayong panahon ng community quarantine kung saan maraming nawalan ng hanapbuhay at nahihirapan sa mga pangangailangang pang nutrisyon ng kanilang pamilya, malaki ang maitutulong ng enhanced nutribun o e-nutribun upang mas mapabuti ang nutritional status ng mga bata lalo na ang may mga problema sa malnutrisyon. Kaya naman ang ating gobyerno, sa tulong at pangunguna ng DOST-FNRI, ay gumawa ng “reformulated ingredients” ng nutribun upang magkaroon ng tinatawag na enhanced nutribun o e-nutribun.

Kamakailan lamang, nakiisa ang NNC Calabarzon sa “Online Launching ng E-Nutribun” (o enhanced nutribun) ng DOST-FNRI. Ito ay sinundan ng Tech-NEGOshow na kung saan mayroong tatlong (3) magkakasabay na online negotiations para sa mga potensyal na distributors ng e-nutribun. Ang mga ito ay ang Century Pacific Food Inc., Nutridense Food Manufacturing Corporation, at Aretei Foods Corporation) ng Enhanced Nutribun.

photo radio plugs article 10 CALAMBA CITY – NNC Calabarzon will continue to deliver its essential services through radio plugs of Nutri Komiks Series 1, 2 and 3 to boost the promotion of good nutrition (PGN) and to provide updated nutrition information to all its stakeholders. It started airing since August and will continue up to October 2020 in selected radio stations in Calabarzon.

During the 2020 Communication Plan for Nutrition, NNC Calabarzon and the Communicators’ Network for Nutrition in Region 4A (CNN-4A) agreed to utilize alternative channels such as radio and other forms of social media for nutrition promotion as the number of undernutrition cases in the whole of Calabarzon continue to increase as a result of the extended community quarantine.
